It is written, “For the Kingdom of God is not in speaking [word] but in power.” 1 Corinthians 4:20. May I ask you, what kind of power are we talking about? While you pause for an answer, I love to declare that it is the power of the Holy Ghost, the power of resurrection which is the power of the Most High. (Luke1:35) In my previous write-ups, I wrote about two kinds of kingdoms that co-exist now on earth. They are the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness. Obviously, power is definitely relative to kingdom. Hence no power no kingdom, and the two kinds of powers are, the power of God which is above every other power; and the power of darkness which is a destructive useless power. I am sure that everyone needs power for salvation, protection and provision. Do you not know that owing to the sense of insecurity and fear of death, people run from pillar to post looking for power? The scripture says,”Therefore because the children had partaken of blood and flesh, then likewise He shared with them, so that through death He would make ineffective the one who had the power of death, this is the devil, and He would set them free, as many as were in bondage through their lifetime because of the fear of death.” Hebrews.2:14-15. No wonder, after all said and done, that is, after Jesus died and resurrected; He declared, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and upon the earth—-and behold I AM with you all the days until the end of the age”. Math.28:18-20.
I do know that no one can be neutral, you are either in the light or darkness according to your choice. What power are you caught up with? Be warned,” there is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” Prov.14:12 Without an iota of doubt, the power of darkness leads to destruction and eternal damnation. The good news is that the Power of God is glorious and leads to eternal life. Hallelujah; and the Lord Jesus Christ has made this power available for His followers. He made His disciples have a foretaste of God’s glorious power before His death, burial , resurrection and glorification. In Luke 10:18-19, Our Savior and Lord said, “I was watching Satan while he was falling as lightning from heaven. Behold I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions, and upon every power of the enemy, and nothing could harm you.” By the sovereign acts of God, satan is dethroned, disarmed, destroyed and defeated. Colossians 2:14-15 gave credence to this decisive act of the King of kings. Notwithstanding in order not to forget the ultimate goal of our faith in Him, He instructed; “But, you must not rejoice in this because the spirits are subject to you, but you must rejoice because your names have been written in heavens.” Luke 10 verse20. Glory be to the Lord Jesus Christ my Redeemer!
The Lord of lords,The King of glory knew that His disciples would be like a toothless bull dog without the power of the Holy Spirit.Hence before He left for His Throne, He instructed them to wait for His power that He would fill them with. “Then behold, I, Myself, am sending My Father’s promise upon you: but you must now stay in the city until you would be clothed in power from on high.” Luke24:49. As He was about being taken up into Heaven, He further instructed that,”–You will take power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the outermost part of the earth.”Act.1:8. In obedience to the King of glory, they left mount Olivet for an upper room in Jerusalem where they waited on God to receive the promised power of the Holy Ghost. The experience which the Apostles had on the day of Pentecost was not a coincidence but amazing and a deliberate act of God to authenticate His Kingdom in heaven and on earth. The scripture says, “And when the day of Shavuot{Pentecost} had come they were all in one place together. And a sound came suddenly out of heaven as bringing a violent wind and it filled the whole house where they were sitting, and dividing tongues like fire were seen by them and the flames sat upon each one of them, and all were filled by the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages just as the Spirit was giving them to speak out boldly.” Acts 2:1-4. As a result of this wonderful visitation from on High, Peter who was timid before, became bold to testify to the goodness and power and glory of the Kingdom of God where he belongs. Peter boldly said,”God resurrected this Y’shua (Jesus), of which we all are witnesses: therefore since He has been raised to the right hand of God, and has taken the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father, He poured this out which also you are seeing and hearing.” Act.2:32-33.
We all need this transforming power of this Kingdom to purge, cleanse and strengthen us to do valiantly to the glory of God. You know what! this memorable day of clothing with power from on High was when God supernaturally wrote His Torah{Teaching} in the hearts of believers to enable them walk in His counsel. The Israelites in the days of Moses, were unable to obey the laws written on stones because they were not filled with the Holy Ghost. Likewise these days, any believer that is not baptized with the Holy Spirit will not be victorious over sin and Satan. You will please do well to read Jeremiah 31:31-32. This glorious power is available for every one that is willing to believe and receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
Several times in my life,I have experienced this power of resurrection, the creative power of God that brought Christ from death. It is written, “And if the Spirit of the One Who raised Y’shua from the dead dwells in you, the One Who raised Messiah{Christ} from the dead will also make alive your mortal bodies through His Spirit because He abides within you.” Rom.8:11. The Power of the Most High is so mighty to save from ‘the guttermost to the uttermost’. David testified, “I waited patiently for the LORD; and He inclined to me and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay and set my feet upon a rock and established my goings. And He has put a new song in my mouth, praise to our God. Many will see it and revere Him and will trust in the Lord.” Psalm.40:2-4. This is exactly what the Lord Jesus Christ did in my live. I was trapped in a miry clay of sin, sinking fast in a swampy and muddy soil of sin. I was overwhelmed with the attacks and arrows of Satan and his agents. I desperately ran from pillar to post looking for help where there was no help. Although. I have been a church goer since my youth, yet the denomination which I was then had no supernatural solution to my problems. As time went on, God showed up by ordering my step to a meeting where I heard the gospel red hot and repented of my sins and received Jesus Christ as my savior and Lord. There and then the peace of God flooded my heart and I was born-again, born by the Spirit of God, born from above in to the Kingdom of God.
Having been washed in the precious blood of Jesus and set free from oppression, God anointed me and put new songs in my mouth to praise and worship Him all the days of my life. One outstanding miracle the LORD is doing in part of His body where He has placed me as a leader under Him, is the river of living water flowing in new songs{Spiritual song}. As many of us yield to the Holy Spirit, we receive new songs spontaneously to praise and worship God in the beauty of His Holiness. Remember that there is a standing order from the LORD to sing new songs unto Him continually. Thus says the LORD, “O sing unto the LORD a new song; for He has done marvelous things: his right hand and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.” Psalm.98:1. Each time we assemble unto the LORD and break forth in pure worship of God with spiritual songs; the heavens are opened on us and we are enveloped with His glory. To God be the glory! We have not arrived yet, but trust the LORD to lead us deeper in this experience of encountering His glory in the name of Jesus Christ.
It is written, “Redeeming your time, because the days are evil. Because of this do not be foolish, but you must understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not get drunk on wine, in which is debauchery, but you must continually be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in Psalms and singing praises and spiritual songs, singing praises and playing stringed instruments from your heart to the Lord, giving thanks to our God and Father always for all things in the name of our Lord Y’shua Messiah.” Ephesians 5:16-20. The Lord Jesus Christ will bless you and keep you as you meditate on this truth and walk in it. Amen.
